Early beginnings
Verity emerged out of the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the year 2003 with just five members.
As time went by, the group expanded in numbers, including dancers from other Christian denominations.
Where we are today
We have over one hundred fifty students at varying levels from beginner to advanced. Our students’ ages range from three years old to over forty.
We teach a variety of dance techniques inclusive of Basic Ballet, Contemporary Modern, Street Jazz, Afro-Caribbean, and Ballet Pointe.
What we believe
As a dance group, we believe that God-given talents should first and foremost be used to glorify and give God thanks, acknowledging that “he is the author and finisher of all our faiths”.
Our Main Goal
Spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through dance is the main objective of the Verity Dance group. As a result of this objective, we have opened our doors to all young people interested in learning the art-form, with the hope of enhancing their creativity and contributing to our cultural society.
Some of our members have traveled to various islands which has enabled them to further put into action this objective, that Jesus Christ is “the way, the TRUTH and the life”; hence our name “Verity” – which means truth.
